The SDC Annual Meeting is offered each year (pending fiscal year funding approval) to the State Library Agency data coordinator responsible for submitting the federal Public Library Survey (PLS) data to the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS). The Conference provides training on new and current data elements, collection tool, and other information needed for the timely and accurate submission of annual PLS data. IMLS covers the cost of travel, hotel and per diem.

Here is a paragraph I've used in my travel request:
In my role of State Data Coordinator (SDC), I believe this conference is extremely important to stay current on issues of public library data gathering, analysis, and use at the state and the federal level. This is also an opportunity to develop working relationships with other SDCs around the country and IMLS staff to develop and share best practices.
